- HOW TO ENTER
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY.
There are two (2) ways to enter:
1) Text Entry Method:
Listen to the Radio Station weekdays at 8:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m., 8:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. ET during the Contest Period for the “MILLION DOLLAR JUMP JAM”, a montage of songs (the “Jump”). Upon hearing the Jump Jam, listeners will be invited to text the word “JUMP” along with the correct song title of the first song played in the Jump Jam to 586736 (each, a “Text Entry”). Text Entries must be received within the broadcast duration of the relevant Jump Jam in order to be eligible. For the purposes of illustration, if a Jump Jam is played between 8:00 a.m. and 8:20 a.m., then Text Entries must have been received by the Radio Station before 8:20 a.m. during that time slot.
Streaming Listeners: Please note that you may be listening to a delayed stream of the radio signal which may vary depending on your computer’s memory capacity and the speed of your internet connection. For that reason, Contest Sponsors recommend that you turn on your radio to the Radio Station to participate in any call-in contest to be sure you are participating in “real time.” Contest Sponsors assume no responsibility for entrants not making timely phone calls to the Radio Station as a result of the delays in the Internet stream.
Immediately after completion of each Jump Jam, one (1) Text Entry from the pool of eligible Text Entries will be randomly selected as the potential winner of an invitation (each, an “Invitation”) to attend the JUMP! Party scheduled to take place between the close of the Contest Period and November 15, 2014 (the “Party”). Eligible entrants must make themselves available by phone immediately after the Jump Jam in the event their Text Entry is selected and they are contacted by the Radio Station. Potential Qualifiers found to be ineligible, decline to accept their Invitation or who are unable to be contacted immediately after Jump Jam in which they submitted their Text Entry may be required to forfeit their Invitation and another eligible entrant may be selected in Contest Sponsors’ sole discretion.
Please note: Standard data service charges may apply through the Text Entry method; check carrier plan for standard data usage charges. Entrants are solely responsible for any fees or data charges related to the Text Entry method.
NOTE: Only one (1) Text Entry per person per Jump Jam is permitted during the Contest Period. For greater certainty, entrants may only use one (1) mobile device phone number to enter the Contest. If it is discovered that any person has attempted to use: (i) more than one (1) mobile device phone number during the Contest Period; and/or (ii) multiple names, or identities to enter the Contest; then he/she may be disqualified from the Contest and all of his/her entries voided. Use (or attempted use) of multiple names, identities, phone numbers and/or any automated, macro, script, robotic or other systems(s) or program(s) to enter or otherwise participate in or disrupt this Contest is prohibited and is grounds for disqualification by the Contest Sponsors, to be determined in the sole and absolute discretion of the Contest Sponsors.
In the event of a dispute as to the identity of a winner based on a Text Entry, the winning entry will be deemed to be made by the authorized account holder of the mobile device used at the time of entry
To avoid any purchase requirement such as cell phone or data service charges, entrants may enter through the Written Submission method, as described below.
2) Written Submission Entry Method
Listeners who do not have a cell phone and/or do not wish to pay any associated texting fees or charges may enter the Contest under the Written Submission Method as follows. For each written submission entry, entrants must handwrite legibly on separate blank pieces of paper: his or her full name, city and province of residence, postal code, phone number and email address, along with the date and time of the applicable Jump Jam and correct song title of the first song played in such Jump Jam (each, a “Written Submission Entry”).
Written Submissions may be either delivered or mailed to “THE JUMP! 106.9 MILLION DOLLAR JUMP JAM”, c/o 1504 Merivale Road, Ottawa, Ontario K2E 6Z5. Each Written Submission must be submitted on a separate blank piece of paper, along with the entrant’s contact information as set out in the above paragraph.
Written Submissions must be received at the Radio Station studios prior to the close of the Contest Period and must comply with these Contest Rules in order to be eligible.
Note: Written Submission Entries are to be used only in lieu of the Text Entry. For greater certainty, only one (1) Text Entry OR one (1) Written Submission Entry per person per Jump Jam is permitted during the Contest Period.
Multiple Text Entries or Written Submission Entries, i.e., those that exceed the permitted amount in each case, will be discarded. In the event that the Contest Sponsors receive more than the permitted number of entries, the Contest Sponsors reserve the right to void and destroy any entries from that entrant, and that entrant may, at the sole discretion of the Contest Sponsors, be disqualified from the Contest. Entries are subject to verification and will be declared invalid if they are reproduced, falsified, altered or tampered with in any way.
On October 27, 2014 at approximately 4:00 p.m. ET, one (1) Written Submission Entry from the pool of eligible Written Submission Entries will be randomly selected as the potential winner of an Invitation to attend the Party. Selected entrants who are found to be ineligible, who decline to accept their Invitation or who are unable to be contacted within one (1) business day after the draw may be required to forfeit their Invitation and another eligible entrant may be selected in Contest Sponsors’ sole discretion.
The precise date, time and location of Party referred to above shall be determined by the Contest Sponsors in their sole discretion and may be subject to change or rescheduling. A total of two hundred and one (201) Invitations are available to be awarded. (Each winner of an Invitation will hereinafter be referred to as a “Qualifier”).
All Qualifiers will be contacted by a representative of one of the Contest Sponsors by telephone or email as provided by the entrant in their Text Entry or Written Submission, the choice of the method of contact to be determined by the Contest Sponsors.
Only one (1) Invitation will be awarded per person during the Contest Period. Once an Invitation is awarded to a person, he or she will no longer be eligible to enter the remaining Jump Jams left in the Contest.
Qualifiers may bring up to one (1) guest each to the Party. Guests of the Qualifiers at the Party are not eligible to win a Grand Prize or the Door Prize and must be over the age of nineteen (19) years of age.
- GRAND PRIZE AND DOOR PRIZE WINNER SELECTION
Each Invitation entitles the entrant to one (1) entry in the random draw to take place at the Party for a chance to win a Grand Prize or the Door Prize, as described below.
Only Qualifiers who register when they arrive at the Party will be eligible to win a Grand Prize or Door Prize. To be eligible to win a Grand Prize or Door Prize, Qualifiers must be present in person and register at the Party for the Grand Prize and Door Prize draw before 8:45 p.m. ET. Qualifiers are not permitted to appoint a proxy. Valid photo identification may be required to register for the Party.
At the Party, between approximately 9:30 and 10:00 p.m. ET, the ballots of two (2) eligible Qualifiers will be randomly selected as the potential winners of a Grand Prize, as described below (each, a “Finalist”).
Each Finalist will first be provided with a designated set of forty (40) security-sealed envelopes (each envelope will be identified by a unique serial number). Each sealed envelope will contain a message describing one (1) of the four (4) possible Grand Prizes as set out below.
The Finalists will be asked to begin opening their set of envelopes, taking alternate turns doing so. The decision as to which Finalist will start opening their envelopes first will be made by coin-toss. The Finalists will then take turns opening their designated set of envelopes until exactly five (5) identical messages describing one (1) of the four (4) possible Grand Prizes has been revealed.
The quantity of identical messages contained in the envelopes is allocated as follows:
Prize Amount Number of Envelopes per Set
$1,000,000 CAD Five (5)
$10,000 CAD Six (6)
$5,000 CAD Nine (9)
$2,500 CAD (Sponsor Prize)* Twenty (20)
Note: In order to be eligible to win a Grand Prize, the Finalists must open envelopes from their designated set until each Finalist has matched five (5) identical messages. No envelopes may be opened after five (5) identical messages have been matched. The five (5) matched messages will denote the Grand Prize to be awarded to that Finalist. Once a Contestant successfully matches five (5) identical messages and there is compliance with these Contest Rules, he or she will be awarded the Grand Prize corresponding to the five (5) identical messages contained the envelopes he or she has opened.
Note: The Contest Sponsors will visually record the above continuously to include each Finalist opening each envelope from his/her designated set of envelopes and the contents of each such envelope to ensure compliance of these Contest Rules.
Following the awarding of the Grand Prizes, one (1) eligible Qualifier present at the Party will be randomly selected as the potential winner of the Door Prize, as described below.
- THE GRAND PRIZES AND GRAND PRIZE VALUES
There are two (2) Grand Prizes to be won, the choice of which shall depend on the five (5) identical envelopes opened by the Finalists:
Up to one (1) Grand Prize of $1,000,000 CAD
Up to two (2) Grand Prize(s) of $10,000 CAD
Up to two (2) Grand Prize(s) of $5,000 CAD or
Up to two (2) Grand Prize(s) of $2,500 CAD (Sponsor Prize).
For avoidance of doubt, only one (1) Grand Prize of $1,000,000 CAD will be awarded. In the event the second (2nd) Finalist opens five (5) matching $1,000,000 envelopes, such Finalist will be awarded a $10,000 CAD Grand Prize.
Decisions of the Contest Sponsors regarding prizing are final and the Grand Prizes must be accepted as awarded.
Please note: It may take approximately four (4) weeks for Grand Prizes to be fulfilled to eligible Grand Prize winners.

The overall odds of winning one (1) of the above noted Grand Prizes is as follow:
$1,000,000 CAD (5 in a field of 40) = 0.002 (0.2%)
