Some people have complained that Stephen King’s IT movie adaptation just isn’t scary enough. If you’re one of those people, maybe this will be the movie for you.
King’s 1992 suspense novel ‘Gerald’s Game’ was turned into a Netflix movie in September, and there’s reportedly a scene that’s so gruesome, it’s making people pass out.
The movie is about a couple who take a vacation to a isolated cabin to re-discover the spark in their marriage, when the husband suffers a fatal heart attack after hand cuffing his wife to the bed. You can see the trailer for yourself below.
Now, I don’t want to spoil anything for anyone who hasn’t read the book or seen this movie yet, but the scene in question has the wife trying to get out of her handcuffs, and it’s not pretty.
The director of the movie, Mike Flanagan, had said “Someone fainted at the Fantastic Fest screening which is the coolest thing I’ve ever heard.”
Plus, he says in this interview, they didn’t even take that scene as far as the book did. Which is only slightly relieving.
If you want to watch it, it’s streaming now!
