Beyoncé’s ‘Lemonade’ came out in April of 2016 but fans had to wait a bit to pick up the vinyl release that just came out earlier this summer.
And apparently Ottawa punk band Zex just experienced the luckiest mix up in the world.
The first side of Zex’s 2017 album named ‘Uphill Battle’, appears on some copies of the A-side of Beyoncé’s ‘Lemonade’.
It only effected some limited release records in Europe and Columbia Records released a statement blaming ‘human error’.
The Lead Guitarist for Zex says they learnt of the mixup when a friend from a London, England record store reached out and told him how they were getting returned copies of the album.
Some confused Bey fans even reached out on social media after Shazaming the album to find out who exactly they were listening to. Sounds like they could have just expanded their fan base though! What are the odds?!
No one knows how many copies are out there, but either way, we’re all talking about it today and that’s awesome exposure for a local band like Zex. Read more below!
