The promise from the Liberal government to legalize marijuana by next summer is coming up, so the question in everyone’s mind was… Where are they going to sell it?
LCBO seemed like the best bet for most, and that’s exactly what’s going to happen.
Ontario plans to sell marijuana in as many as 150 LCBO run stores controlled by the liquor control board after it’s legalization next summer (by July 1st 2018). They will operate separately from the current locations and be stand alone stores, and the plan right now is to have all those stores open by the year 2020. The sale of both marijuana and alcohol will NOT be mixed. They also plan to sell marijuana online.
The sale of products will be restricted to those 19 years of age or older. The use of marijuana will be restricted to private residences only (for now).
