Sorry to be the bearer of bad news… well technically not me, but The Old Farmer’s Almanac.
I know most of us are still holding on to summer, but weather forecasters are already looking ahead to fall, winter, and what it has in store for us.
After a BRUTAL 2016-17 winter… we’re in for another doozy. But before we get there, fall is coming up and October is looking, on average, 2 degrees colder than the average October temperature at 6 degrees. We could even see wet snow throughout the month, but it won’t stick around.
As for Winter, expect lots of snow, snow fall is going to be above normal with near normal or above average temperatures. The coldest stretch will be between late December and early January, then again in late January to mid February. The snowiest periods? Mid December, early and late February, and… early APRIL?! Ugh.
So how accurate is The Old Farmer’s Almanac? They’ve been doing long-term weather predictions for 225 years, and they claim they’re 80% accurate. But some meteorologists claim their methods are old and out dated. So take it with a grain of salt and hope for a green Christmas!
