With all of the devastation caused by Hurricane Harvey in Houston right now, it’s so nice to see so many people, business and celebrities coming together to help!
The Kardashians accepted Kevin Hart’s challenge to donate, but they ponied up a lot more than $25,000! They’re giving HALF A MILLION! Although if they really wanted to help, they could’ve just donated Kylie’s lips (or Kanye’s ego) as a flotation device!
If you think the Kardashians are generous, Sandra Bullock just chipped in A FULL MILLION. By herself.
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is also donating $25,000 to the Houston relief effort after being “challenged” by Kevin. So counting “Baywatch”, it’s his second involvement in a water-related disaster!
Jennifer Lopez and A-Rod are giving $25,000 EACH!
Houston Rockets owner Leslie Alexander is increasing his original $4 million donation to $10 million.
During a show in Miami on Monday night, Coldplay debuted a new song for Houston, called “Houston”. Supposedly, it was the first and only time they’re ever going to play it.
After a wave of criticism, pastor Joel Osteen announced yesterday that his Houston megachurch will be open for evacuees after all. And the church claims that interior flooding was the reason they didn’t open sooner.
Beyonce’s astor talked to TMZ about what she’s doing to help, but he refused to confirm or deny a rumour that she’s already put up $7 MILLION. He said she doesn’t like to publicize her charitable works.
American Idol was supposed to hold auditions in Houston and San Antonio this weekend. They’re canceled, for obvious reasons.
Also, at least 11 different companies have already pledged over $1 million to help Hurricane Harvey victims. So far, the list includes Apple, Amazon, Chevron, CitiBank, Home Depot, JP Morgan, Pepsi, UPS, Walmart, Wells Fargo, and the investment company Intercontinental Exchange.
There are also a bunch of companies that have given at least $100,000, including Exxon, Ford, Google, Starbucks, and United Airlines.
