When you were 5-years-old, your teachers and parents probably asked what you wanted to be when you grow up
As a child, you and your classmates likely answered this question with occupations such as actor, musician, police officer, firefighter and one dreamer probably quipped with, “I want to be Batman!“.
You go little dude.
Now that you’re older, you’re probably contemplating a career that has excellent work-life balance, pays decent wages, has benefits, a great retirement plan (well if you’ve thought that far… which you need to), and… a career you actually enjoy!
You’ve heard this saying a billion times:
“If you follow your passion, you’ll never have to work a day in your life”.
Here’s the problem: many of us don’t know what that passion IS.
Enter Adam Leipzig’s Ted Talk.
Adam asks you to name something that you’re passionate about. Do you cook, design, crunch numbers, write, teach? He asks you to narrow it down to the one thing you feel supremely qualified to TEACH other people.
WATCH: Find your life’s purpose in 5 minutes
To find your life’s purpose, Adam recommends you ask yourself 5 things:
1. Who you are.
2. What you do?
2. Who you do it for?
4. What those people wanted or needed?
5. How those people changed as result?
It may not work immediately for you, especially if you have NO IDEA what you’re good at! Regardless, hopefully it inspired you to start thinking on the right track.
