The City of Toronto had to apologize after some complaints received regarding the performance of Ottawa rapper Belly over the Canada Day weekend celebrations.
During the final night of celebrations, fireworks, and performances, some who were there felt offended by what they said were profanities and inappropriate content from the rapper.
I cringed the whole performance. He didn't just say the Fword 100 times. He said he was smoking CDN kush, drinking, popping pills all day :/— Meaghan (@mkosial) July 4, 2017
Some blame the rapper himself, some blame the city for booking him, others saying you shouldn’t be bringing kids to an event with a rap artist billed as a performer.
