If you bike or walk frequently on NCC pathways in various parts of the city, you won’t be able to use some of them until next year. Flood damage from the spring has forced the closure of these pathways…
- The Voyageurs Pathway from the Portage Bridge to the Canadian Museum of History – Due to severe shoreline erosion and infrastructure damage. Several sinkholes have also formed on this pathway.
- The Parliament Hill section of the Ottawa River Pathway – There is severe shoreline erosion and visible sinkholes.
- Gatineau Park’s Lac-des-Fées Pathway – Damaged beyond repair. Extensive work will be needed restore the pathway.
These areas will remain closed until the Spring of 2018. Other NCC pathways that experienced flood damage will remain open, but will still need some repair. CLICK HERE for more details.
