Thanks to the Senators series win over the Boston Bruins in the first round, Mayor Jim Watson won a homemade Boston cream pie, courtesy of Elizabeth Moore Aubin from the charges d’affaires at the U.S. Embassy.
For round two, Jim Watson has a friendly wager with New York City’s mayor, Bill de Blasio.
If the Senators win this second round series, de Blasio will send New York City bagels, wear a Senators jersey at city council and plant a maple tree somewhere in the city.
If the Rangers win the series, Watson will send egg rolls from Golden Palace, wear a New York Rangers jersey at city council and plant a tree from New York somewhere in the capital.
After the Sens win on Thursday night, those bagels might be ready to hit the oven. We’ll see.
