Some great news to start the day, Canada is once again the world champion for curling thanks to Team Homan!
The team, led by Ottawa-born skip Rachel Homan, managed to sweep the competition, winning all 13 of their games. According to this Ottawa Citizen article, they are the first team to accomplish it in the 38 year history of the championship.
It is Canada’s first gold in the women’s world championships in 8 years, Jennifer Jones being the last skip to achieve it.
Congratulations to Team Homan! Hopefully they enjoy celebrating in Beijing!
