You’ve probably heard a lot of fuss over bees in the last couple of years, with colony numbers ever dwindling.
Colonies have been dying off in record numbers, drawing a lot of attention and concern from the scientific community due to the fact that bees are one of the best pollinators out there. Without them, staples like fruits and vegetables would be a lot harder to come by.
Well, Cheerios has decided to step in!
The cereal company (specifically, the Honey Nut division) has been giving away millions of free seeds to customers who want to help the bee population recover!
And did customers ever get on board.
That’s right, as of Friday they had smashed their goal of 100 million and given away 1.5 BILLION wildflower seeds. If you missed out, don’t worry though – according to their Canadian website, more should be available as of tomorrow.
