It’s been a good week for people from Ottawa.
Not only did Grant McSheffrey manage to get a 3 night streak on Jeopardy, now Chris Moberg and Jared Young have won an award at the South by Southwest film festival in Texas!
The pair won the award for “Excellence in Title Design,” or as most of us would call it, trailers. But unlike the other nominees (including “Stranger Things,” “Dr. Strange”, and “The Crown”), theirs was for a book, rather than a movie or television show.
And the trailer is really, really cool.
Young published his first book, “Into the Current”, last year, with a premiere in September at the Mayfair Theatre. The trailer, made by Moberg, was originally just intended for the website, but they tell the Ottawa Sun they entered it into the awards on a whim – never expecting to win.
A BIG HOMETOWN CONGRATULATIONS TO BOTH!
Also, can visual trailers be a thing for all books now? That would be cool.
