This is a large system carrying freezing rain from Algonquin Park to the west, stretching eastward into Central Quebec. The freezing rain that moved into the Ottawa-Gatineau region on Monday afternoon and is expected to continue into Tuesday morning. Just in time for the morning commute. Drive safely.

A long-lasting period of freezing rain resulting in ice accumulation is expected or occurring.
Freezing rain approaching.
Patchy freezing rain is forecast to develop late this afternoon and become more steady this evening.
Freezing rain will change to periods of rain early Tuesday.
5 to 10 mm of ice accretion is expected.
Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots will become icy, slippery and hazardous. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Ice build-up may cause tree branches to break. Utility outages may occur.
