After we enjoyed a 15 degree February day in Ottawa-Gatineau on Thursday, it looks like we’ll get another taste of Winter on Friday. However, It could be a lot worse.
Environment Canada has issued a FREEZING RAIN WARNING on Friday for Ottawa-Gatineau, Prescott-Russell and Renfrew-Pembroke-Barry’s Bay regions. There may be a few patches of freezing drizzle during the day, but prolonged freezing rain is expected in the evening hours. If you are travelling in these areas on Friday, take extra care on the roads.

Although some patchy freezing rain is possible on Friday during the day, the more significant freezing rain is expected to develop Friday evening and last until midnight.
Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Slow down driving in slippery conditions. Watch for taillights ahead and maintain a safe following distance. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions.
Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.
