You know it’s gotta be pretty bad if SNL (a show that routinely pushes the boundaries when it comes to jokes) decided to suspend one of their writers over a tweet on their personal account.
On Inauguration Day, SNL writer Katie Rich tweeted from her own personal account that Trumps 10 year old son Barron “will be this country’s first homeschool shooter”
Yeah, not even a little funny. The tweet has since been deleted, and Katie did post an apology after experiencing a ton of backlash over it. She even had to deactivate her account for a little while.
I sincerely apologize for the insensitive tweet. I deeply regret my actions & offensive words. It was inexcusable & I'm so sorry.— Katie Rich (@katiemaryrich) January 23, 2017
Despite her apology SNL has still decided to suspend her from her position as a writer. No word on how long the suspension will last or if she’ll even be keeping her job after that.
