While we’re still waiting for the Rideau Canal Skateway to open here in Ottawa, Gatineau Park’s skating canal is already up and running.
It’s also a HUGE success in just its first week!
Located about an hour north of Ottawa in the forest near Lac-des-Loups, near Ste-Cécile-de-Masham, creator Dave Mayer says business is boomin’!
Within its first 8 day more than 3,000 people have skated on the 3km ice rink. That’s as many people Mayer was expecting the whole season!
Just look at all these happy people!
The Lac-des-Loups skateway is open everyday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Adults skate for $12 a day ($65 for a season pass), children six to 17 years old pay $8 a day ($45 for the season) and kids under five skate free.
Family passes for two adults and two children are $37 a day, $185 for a season.
