Remember back when Justin Bieber announced two weeks into his Purpose World Tour earlier this year that he was too tired to do any more meet-and-greets with his fans?
Well, one mom wasn’t having it and decided to sue Justin for breach of contract and negligent misrepresentation! That’s a fancy way of saying, “I want my money back, you brat.”
This mom paid almost $1,900 for a VIP package for herself and her 15-year-old daughter which included floor seats and a meet-and-greet with Bieber. Well, since he cancelled his meet-and-greets it meant the closest Melissa and her daughter would get to meeting him would be a photo with a cardboard cutout.
The tour company did promise refunds to people who paid for the pricy meet-and-greets, but after a couple months Melissa was getting tired of waiting for it so she decided to sue Justin and it worked because she won!
Bieber didn’t hire a lawyer to represent him and he didn’t show up in court to challenge her lawsuit. Poor Melissa and her daughter- denied a second chance to see The Biebs in person!
Since he didn’t show up to court, technically he was found in default of court and automatically found guilty. Melissa the mom was awarded about $5300. She was given the cost of the VIP packages, plus around $3,300 in legal fees.
