2017 is going to be a BIG YEAR. Not only will the stroke of midnight on the 31st mark the end of 2016 (something we all need right now), it will also kick off the celebration of Canada’s 150th year of Confederation.
So, what’s the best way to ring it in?
At the places that sum up the uniquely Ottawa experience, of course!
There are a number of official sites set up to help with live music AND fireworks!
Parliament Hill will be the main hub of all the celebrations, with live performances from Carly Rae Jepsen, Radio Radio, and Brett Kissel, plus “pyromusical fireworks” starting at 8:17pm and then EVEN MORE fireworks at midnight.
On the Gatineau side, the Canadian Museum of History will have local acts performing, and of course, a view of the fireworks that simply can’t be beat.
At Ottawa City Hall, there will be a family-friendly celebration starting at 6:00pm, including the lighting of a brilliant cauldron to kick off the “Ottawa 2017” festivities!
You can find the full details of all the events HERE. The forecast is CURRENTLY saying it will be between -4 and -7 with a chance of snow, so perfect weather to get out and enjoy the celebrations!
