Remember just last year… not a spec of snow on the ground for Christmas.
How times have changed. And if you’re travelling Christmas night or on Boxing day, there’s a Winter storm possible with a mix of everything.
Environment Canada has a special weather statement in effect….
Winter storm potentially starting late Christmas night or Boxing Day.
A Colorado low is expected to track across the Dakotas Christmas Day and Northwestern Ontario on Boxing Day. It is forecast to bring a wintery mix of snow, ice pellets and freezing rain for many regions including much of Northeastern and Eastern Ontario. It will likely change to rain on Boxing Day as well, before tapering off to some snow or flurries on the night of Boxing Day. The only exception may be Far Northeastern Ontario which would likely remain as snow.
Motorists travelling should take this into consideration when making their Christmas season plans.
