Police are asking for witnesses to come forward after an awful case of animal cruelty near Algonquin College on Thursday afternoon.

The Ottawa Citizen reporting here that the small, 9-month-old pomeranian had escaped its leash, and upon searching the area, its owner came across three people standing around the critically injured dog in a parking lot.
The Citizen interviewed Detective David Guy, who was quoted saying, “The three people said they had heard a commotion and seen someone kicking at the dog and then running away. The owner scooped up the badly injured animal and took it straight to a veterinarian, but it later died from its injuries.”
