Kate McKinnon and Alec Baldwin have been giving it their all since the season premiere of Saturday Night Live, as presidential hopefuls Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump.
For the final show before the US election on Tuesday, they decided to pull out all the stops, say “emails” no less than 30 times, make out with FBI agents, and ultimately get along, encouraging their viewers to get out and vote.
Now, the tone of the skit would imply that this is the last we will see of Clinton and Trump on the program, but I think no matter what the outcome of the election is, we will get at least a couple more skits. Here are my predictions:
If Trump wins: Alec Baldwin would come back for at least one or two shows, and would probably be put on retainer to come back whenever the president did something questionable. So…he would become a regular cast member again, basically.
If Clinton Wins: Kate McKinnon is already a regular cast member, and does such a perfect impression that they’d be insane NOT to continue the sketches in some capacity. Did they stop Obama sketches once he was elected? No, they did not.
