If you enjoy shopping or dining at the restaurants along the Somerset-Wellington-Richmond corridor, the days of free parking could be coming to an end.
The city is looking at paid parking for the stretch of road starting from the Bayview Bridge in Hintonburg in the east, ending at Golden Avenue in the west.
With more condominiums being constructed along the Somerset-Wellington-Richmond route, the city could make some serious revenue for paid parking. Nearly 550 new paid street parking spots would be created, which would generate up to $1 million annually. Businesses and residents are split if this plan comes light.
