Monday night’s thunderstorm in the Ottawa area was very intense and we could get a repeat of it on Tuesday night. Environment has issued a Special Weather Statement for Ottawa-Gatineau and several regions in Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec. Heavy rain, intense lightning and high winds are a possibility once again.
From Environment Canada…
A line of showers and the odd thunderstorm will pass through the area early this evening ahead of a cold front. Brief wind gusts to 70 or 80 km/h are possible with these showers.
Winds will quickly diminish this evening with the passage of the cold front.
