Good news this morning, as Hurricane Matthew started to move up the coast away from Florida, and weakened from a category 2 storm, to a category 1.
This is especially good news for the zookeepers and animals at the St. Augustine Alligator Farm and Zoological Park – all were hunkered down inside to wait the storm out, and make sure everyone made it through with all feathers, limbs, and scales intact.
The popular park gained attention today, after posting a photo of their Marabou stork relaxing in the bathroom, captioning it “No species discrimination in this bathroom!”
So sweet. When asked where their larger critters (read: alligators) were, they replied that they “…are riding out the storm in their pools!”
Hopefully, everyone gets back to their usual homes soon!
