That’s right, TODAY IS THE DAY!
The Ottawa U Gee-Gees are facing off against the Carleton Ravens for their annual show down to see who will take home the prized Pedro the Panda.
As you can see, Pedro has been resting comfortably in Alumni Hall at Carleton for the last two years.
The game has a lengthy history in the Nation’s Capital, with the first game dating all the way back to 1955. It is truly one of those things that is uniquely-Ottawa, and a must-see at least once in your life, but things have been known to get a little wild. Even Norm MacDonald gave it some love on The Tonight Show a few years ago, but not because of the game itself. You can find his story HERE.
With 47 games played, the Gee-Gees dominate with 33 wins, the Ravens have 14.
Evidently, fans of both teams are ready to face off and cheer their hearts out for their respective universities. I went to Algonquin, so I’m just going to cheer for Pedro.
