A look back at the good, the bad, and the always iconic.
Refresh your memory before watching the show tonight
Let’s start by taking it back. Waaaaay back, to 1999. Brit’s first performance on the VMA stage was with *NSYNC, doing a remixed version of “…Baby One More Time”.
Outfits? Outstanding. Dance moves? On point. Iconic? For sure.
Her next performance came the following year (2000), when she out did herself with a Rolling Stones cover AND “Oops…I Did It Again”
F I E R C E.
Also, still laughing at “…here to sing a song older than she is.”
In arguably her MOST iconic performance of all time, she followed up ’99 and ’00 with the best version of “Slave 4 U” that ever has been, and ever will be. (2001)
2003 just kept the memorable moments coming, when Britney teamed up with Madonna and Christina Aguilera, and….well, you know.
OK 1, I feel like everyone always forgets that Missy Elliott was there, and 2, I could have SWORN that kiss lasted longer.
And then…2007. Oh, 2007 Britney. I just wanted you to be happy.
In her defense, she had recently become a mother of two. Took guts to go out there at all!
Finally, that brings us to tonight. Many are wondering how it will go over, I say we are in for a treat. Just take a look at her performance at the Billboard Music Awards.
Just…just so good.
