If Ottawa wants a tunnel in the core to help keep truck outs of downtown..technically we can do it.
A study was conducted to see if it was possible…and here is what was found.
The tunnel would be around 3.4 kms long and would be under Lowertown and Sandy Hill.
It would connect the MacDonald Cartier Bridge with the 417, at the Vanier Parkway.
It would cost between $1.7 – $2 Billon!!!
It would have two lanes in both directions, and it would have to be open to both trucks and cars…if both were allowed..it would keep about 25, 000 cars and trucks out of downtown.
It goes to City hall September 7th.
Would you be okay with more construction if it would help the traffic downtown?
