Your Ottawa REDBLACKS took over first place in the CFL’s division after their 23-20 victory over the Edmonton Eskimos on Saturday night at TD Place.
At halftime, quarterback Henry Burris was interviewed by TSN on the sidelines before heading into the locker room. Even though Ottawa had the lead at halftime, Henry voiced his frustrations and had a message for his critics, especially to the TSN broadcasters during the interview.
Burris, who has been given the nickname “Smilin’ Hank” is a friendly guy and a great ambassador for the Canadian Football League. While on the field, he is all business and his frustrations came out during the live broadcast on Saturday night. Henry has battled injuries and has had several ups and downs this season, but played very well on Saturday. Possibly motivated by his critics? Whatever. It worked and they got the win.
Yes, you’re going to be criticized for your performance as a pro athlete. Yes, Henry is being criticized for his comments, but many are giving him props for speaking his mind.
The REDBLACKS have a week off before facing the Montreal Alouettes at TD Place on August 19th at TD Place.
