This past week, the Government of Ontario launched a distracted driving awareness campaign which will feature some impactful and hard hitting commercials, focusing on the after effects of distracted driving.
The first commercial features a driver who gets into an accident after looking down at his phone. The driver ends up in the hospital paralyzed and unable to communicate or feed himself.
Other commercials will follow in the coming weeks. Extended versions will be feature on YouTube and played in theatres before the start of a movie.
Will these commercials deter drivers from picking up the phone behind the wheel? The government certainly hopes that it will.
