I bet you didn’t even know they were illegal in the first place!
You see you’re only allowed to bring a certain amount of booze across provincial boarders and one guy found out the hard way. Gerard Comeau was fined $300 for bringing 14 cases of beer across the Quebec/New Brunswick boarder back in 2012. It’s been in the courts ever since but on Friday a New Brunswick judge ruled the law unconstitutional.
This ruling only effects New Brunswick right now but don’t be surprised if this case makes it all the way to the Supreme Court of Canada.
