Remember when you got your very first first tattoo? Chances are pretty good that Mom and Dad were not too happy about it. Maybe, you kept it hidden for several years. Maybe, you loved your tattoo so much, that you got another, and then another, and another and so on. Well, by getting yourself tattooed on several occasions may be good for your health.
A recent study from the University of Alabama found that people with several tattoos may be healthier than the rest of us. Seriously!
Researchers found that getting tattooed actually trains your skin and your whole body to be tougher. The more tattoos, the more your body gets used to pain and physical stress. By taking the repeated stinging of a tattoo needle could actually make your immune system stronger and your body less likely to get sick.
On the flip side, the study also found that after you getting your first tattoo, you’re more vulnerable to getting a cold or the flu, since your body is not used to that kind of stress.
Take this study at face value. It’s not a guarantee. Everybody is different and the sample group was small. But if you’re itching to get yourself inked (again), you have another reason why.
