It’s March 1st and changes have come to your TV. Starting today, Canadians will have the choice between paying for the cable or satellite package you have now or a slimmed down TV package known as “skinny basic”. The package goes for 25 dollars or less and includes 10 local channels, educational programming and legislative channels. Some of these packages will include the major U.S. networks. Customers will also be able to add on other individual channels as part of their package too. Yes, you’ll have the choice of what you want to watch, instead of paying extra for a bunch of channels you don’t watch, when you only surf in on 1 or 2 of those channels. The graphic below shows the “skinny basic” package offered by Rogers.
Remember, the package does not include things like cable box rental. So, be sure to ask your provider about the “skinny basic” package and an overall price. TV providers will offer you bundles for several channels, but you have the right to pick what YOU want.
P.S. Yes, the picture is of me watching the Blue Jays in the MLB Postseason last year. GO JAYS GO!!!
