How many times have u watched a superhero movie and said to yourself “man I wish they actually had some balls”?
Well, Deadpool is the answer to that question.
It’s the coolest Superhero movie since Iron Man
It’s crude, brutal at times, hilarious, with just enough of a boy/girl storyline, that’s more hot than vomit inducing(looking at you Hulk/Black Widow)
Ryan Reynolds plays former Special Forces, now Mercenary/Thug Wade Wilson(Canadian btw)
Here are the bullet points(spoiler free for the most part)
-Wade falls for a hot girl Vanessa (Morena Baccarin)
-Wade gets cancer in several places
-offerend a treatment to cure it from a creepy guy in a black suit
-undergoes brutal treatment under a european villain, that leaves his face dis figured
-treatment gives him a mutation that gives him healing powers like Wolverine
-Wade breaks out after the mutation cripples his face
-Wade goes on a mission to find the villain to fix his face(that’s where I’ll leave it)
This movie kicked ass from start to end, swearing, violence, talking to the camera, with referring to other Marvel movies, and inside jokes. He’s a pissed off “superhero” who has no apology about how he’s getting answers from thugs.
Throw in X-Men Colossus and Negosonic Teenage Warhead(yeah you read that right)
If this is a start to a new wave of SuperHero movies..than I’m on board.
And other than us, who benefits the most from Deadpool’s HUGE opening weekend? ( $135 million estimated opening) Canada’s Ryan Reynolds. For years, Ryan has the look of an A list, and has worked enough to be one…but he just can’t pull it off at the box office. And maybe after this he’s finally shaken off the Green Lantern controversy(which he makes reference to in this movie)
So Reynolds is an A-lister…and Zac Efron can become the new box office poison.
